This is recipe is our family’s pesto recipe. Why buy pesto from a market when you can get better results by making it at home? Summer is a Basil season during this season take a big batch of Basil and freeze it in small boxes or containers for the usage of coming winter months It’s tasty with pasta, pizza, and sandwiches and other homemade delicious dishes.
It is relatively economical and versatile. It’s also a great source of energy for athletes. Preparing of pasta is not a big deal it is very easy and full of proteins. Pasta is a complete meal with a mixture of few slices of seasonal vegetables and fruit. It is a good nutrient. for long and healthy life us it with a combination of pine nuts and olive oil
Ingredients for:
1 x lb. spaghetti
2 x cloves of garlic, peeled
2 x cups basil leaves, packed
2 x Tbsp. pine nuts
1/2 x cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/3 x cup freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano cheese
2 x Tbsp. freshly grated Pecorino cheese
Salt and pepper according to your taste
Directions
1. take a big pot of salted water to a boil.2. Combine basil, garlic, and pine nuts in a food mixer and mix a few times
3. Add cheese and mix it until combined.
4. While the food-mixer is on, add the olive oil, until fully mixed
5. Add salt and pepper to taste.
6. when the water is boiling add pasta and cook. Drain, reserving 1 cup of water.
7. Place pasta in a large bowl and incorporate pesto. If the pesto is too thick add some of the reserved cooking water. Mixed well and serve immediately.
